August 18, 2016

On behalf of the faculty and staff at WGE, I am excited to welcome everyone to the 2016-2017 school year! Abraham Lincoln once said, "Whatever you are, be a good one," and I truly feel that these are words to live by. I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve as the new principal of a school that is rich in tradition and produces outstanding students.

During these past few weeks, I have been interacting with parents, teachers and students. From these conversations, it is clear to me that we are all invested to provide the best possible academic experience for our students. I look forward to fostering these relationships and working with teachers and staff to provide an elite educational experience for each child.

I recognize that in order to be successful as a school, our WGE children need support from both the home and school. I know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.

I truly feel like I am returning home, as I started my teacher career here at WGE in the second grade classroom. My most recent administrative experience has been shaped by 3 years of successful leadership as a Middle School Assistant Principal at Johnsonville. I have recently completed my Specialist in Educational Leadership from Coastal Carolina University. I feel that by bringing my skills as an educational leader and working with you as a partner in education will ensure your child’s success.

I am eager and excited to begin what promises to be a great year.  I promise to  provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant and builds relationships. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors—teachers, students and parents—are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing environment.

My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, call or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this a successful school year!
